Lesson to embed the skill of ordering and comparinglarge numbers and decimals.

Made for a Year 5 mid to lower ability group. Combining the skills of reading timetables and adding and subtracting decimals in the context of money. Children need to plan their train to the airport and flights to a destination from the 6 options ( I used the airport timetables from Twinkl) . The children have to try and ensure they are at the airport 2 hours before the flight departs and catch their train an hour after the flight lands on the way home. The second lesson looks at planning their holiday activities in the time allocated and within a budget. USed as an end of term task.
