Systematic number bonds - encourages chn to work systematically to find all number bonds using a tens frame. Matching number bonds - chn to solve the additions using either the part-whole model or tens frame. Once solved, they need to match the number bonds together. Designed to be used as a series of lessons to introduce finding the difference using the bar model. The bar model will be introduced practically using cubes initially (there is a flipchart to support) and then they will move onto a picture representation of the bar model, followed by creating their own picture representations. This resource is also intended to introduce the language of 'finding the difference' and 'how many more..?' alongside the subtraction number sentences that chn are already familiar with.
