A lesson on volunteering and charity work. Includes a photo to describe, a reading comprehension, a group work, and an outline of a writing task. I also included two activities based on authentic French resources on volunteering which probably may be more suitable for higher ability students: a translation into English and a reading with a potential extension writing activity.

A lesson on CV anonyme. A range of activities included- a summary (exam style), a listening, and speaking at the end. I printed off the slides with photos for students to discuss and feedback. Two links to the videos on the slide, just in case one disappears. The fill in the gap activities has been done through a free website- the full text is on the following slide, so you can use a different site to personalise the gaps.

A resource loosely based on Dynamo 3 Module 5 Unit 1. Leans towards lower/middle activity, but had extension possibilities. Includes among others recap of vocabulary, reading similar to that from the textbook, reading/running reading activity, a quick photo card for speaking, etc. Slide 15 was thought as a running dictation I would cut up and put around the room, but can obviously be done as a competition or just a reading activity. The link to video on slide 16 is around 8 minutes long, so you can play a section of it.

A lesson introducing perfect tense and the use of technology, using the vocabulary from Studio 2 rouge. Includes vocabulary, a slap the board activity, a trapdoor speaking activity including vocabulary from previous lessons and explanation of perfect tense with examples.

One lesson encouraging students to think of the situation of handicapped people in the society, including a stimulus for a whole class speaking, a reading comprehension with a short translation, and two stimulus cards you can use for in-class practise speaking (I encourage students to make more questions for a follow up discussion).

This reinforces the immediate future tense from the AQA specification, focusing on the yo/tú form of the tense and making predictions for other people. Including mini whoteboard translation, vocabulary introduction, and speaking and writing activities.

A lesson to accompany the Tu es sportif chapter in Dynamo 1, dealing with talking about sport. The lesson contains vocabulary, grammar explanation, some speaking pair work, card description activity and a writing frame for a short writing at the end of the lesson.

A standalone lesson on Cinémathèque that goes well with the Theme 2 from the AS unit on film. It contains a listening activity (with a transcript included), a translation task, a reading/speaking based on authentic documents, and an opportunity for a research and creative/productive work, which could be done either as homework, or in a computer room, or with use of phones to research francophone films and directors. The transcript only covers the first 3 minutes and misses a few short sections, which are not relevant to the questions in the listening.

A stand alone lesson looking at youth crime, Not a material based on a book, but looks into girls involved in criminal activity. Attached the worksheet and a transcript of the youtube clip the listening is based on. The “Phrases à la bombe” reading game works a bit like the 21 game- students work in pairs and read a maximum of three words in a row (so 1, 2 or 3 words), whoever lands on the underlined word loses a point, so they have to count how many words they will read not to land on the underlined word.

A stand alone resource looking at the youth for climate action in French speaking countries- may take around two lessons depending on the ability. The slides with photos can be printed out for students to analyse in groups/pairs. Fill in the gap can be done on the board using the link provided, or you can use the text (the whole text on the next page) to make your own using this or another website. Also included: a text resume activity, revision of the subjunctive, a fill in the gap/translate activity, a listening activity based on a news item, and a speaking plenary.

A powerpoint to accompany Unit 2 Module 5 in Dynamo 3 Vert, it contains answers to the first listening, but other activities are loosely based on grammar and the material from the textbook.
