PLEASE FEEL FREE TO COMMENT ON THIS RESOURCE - ESPECIALLY IF YOU DOWNLOAD IT. This is a combination of resources for the higher and lower ability Y7 students. The P/Point is the same for both. Start them off by speculating about the merits of the 4 types of structure (concluding that castles are the best bet!), and then use the table to complete the benefits and drawbacks about the 4 different locations for the castles. That'll sort out the first 20-25 minutes or so of your lesson - the rest I'll leave to you!

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO COMMENT ON THIS RESOURCE - ESPECIALLY IF YOU DOWNLOAD IT. This is a lesson that I used to introduce the Industrial Revolution. It is a very general lesson to get the students used to the idea that 1750 and 1900 looked and felt very different, hence the diary entry activity. This P/Point has borrowed from another that I downloaded from these very pages, although I have added features.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO COMMENT IF YOU DOWNLOAD. This was my first ever OUTSTANDING! Group work, AfL, Peer Assessment, source work and a combo of VAK methods made this lesson enjoyable for the students, but actually really straightforward to deliver. I had another source 'K&', which was a bottle of dirty water (gravy mixture), labelled &';Broad Street drinking water'! Let me know how it goes!

(10)
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO COMMENT IF YOU DOWNLOAD. I needed to decorate my classroom after being appointed to a Humanities role. These posters were each colour printed, laminated and stuck around a large world map. I used coloured stickers to mark where in the world they are, although coloured threads would also work well. I always catch the kids looking and they often generate questions.

Please comment if you find this useful. The main activity is a living graph to help illustrate the ebb and flow of the fortunes of both sides. More perceptive students may be able to link this lesson with the lesson on Prince Rupert (check my other resources) and see that PR's downfall has a significant impact on the Royalist&'s&'; cause.
