These posters were each colour printed, laminated and stuck around a large world map. I used coloured stickers to mark where in the world they are, although coloured threads would also work well. I always catch the kids looking and they often generate questions.

The first document is split into 4 sections, with each one representing 500 years of British history. The next 3 are card sorts differentiated depending on the ability of your group.

When they first receive the list of 10 I ask them to read the list for 2 mins and for the whole class to ask me about words they don't understand. There are several that are quite difficult.

You may want to simplify the language on the LOW ABILITY worksheet depending on the ability of your class.

The Guardian obituary neatly lays out the 3 different factors and the class should be split into groups and use different coloured cards for each of the 3 factors (Suffragists / Suffragettes / WW1) for an added visual impact.
