This notebook slide shows our whole planning process from beginning to end when using Talk 4 writing to teach the story Peace at Last. We have jump starts everyday which mainly focus on phonics games, spellings and punctuation relating to the Year 1 curriculum. Each day we also have a task that it shown, you can adapt this depending on your cohorts needs. The children end writing a hot task where they write their own version of Peace at Last. As a school we now do not begin our Talk 4 writing topics with a cold task.
I have made this individual timetable for the children in my class that struggle to follow the whole class timetable. It is easy for them to have on their tables, in their trays or next to them at all times.
This timetable is for every day/lesson throughout the week from Monday - Friday.
There are pictures for visuals and children will lift the flap once the lesson has ended. They can then clearly see which lesson comes next and they can preempt what other ,lessons they have during the day.
I have made this so children can use them independently as I was in a classroom without any other adult support. You can change it to however your daily classroom timetable looks.
