This is a 5 week SOW based on the play Dracula. It has been designed to teach to KS3, with new the GCSE spec in mind. Complete with PPts, and necessary resources for the lessons,

A few lessons, encouraging students to develop answers from grade 3 to grade 5. Based around the characters in An Inspector Calls Support is provided for students working towards grade 3/ 4 and 5.

A model answer (one developed idea), showing students an example of planning and writing. I have attached an unannotated verson of the answer, and an annotated version, identifying AOs. The answer focusses on the exploration of AO2 and making links to elsewhere in the text.

A lesson which is designed for a year 9 to show them how to explore structural features for English Language Paper 1 AQA. Designed with the SAMS Carrie’s War paper (text also attached from AQA). it encourages students to use the key words ‘Focus’, ‘Changes’ ‘Contrasts’, ‘Develops’ and ‘Continues’ whilst responding to the text. The lesson also uses a scene from the Hunger Games (hyperlink on the picture) to help students visually with this skill. Could also be used with mid to low ability year 10 and 11

I created these library lesson activity pages to be used in the reading lessons. Students can fill in the pages whilst they are reading, and at the end of the lesson. I have incorporated a diverse range of activity to help engage students in the consideration of ideas and issues explored within the texts they are reading, and is designed to promote independence.

Attached is a powerpoint which can be used to support students in making revision cards for the English Literature texts. This can easily be adapted for any of the texts on Paper 1 and 2 (Lit) I have suggested templates for revision cards for Sign of the Four, Macbeth, Poetry Anthology and Inspector Calls. I have used this resource with top set year 11, bottom set year 11 and a middle set year 10 group- all responding positively. Could be used to create these revision cards in the computer rooms, in the classrooms, or for homework.
