SOW looking at aspects of comedy before focusing on Much Ado About Nothing. Completed with a YR12 class in preparation for their coursework.

This scheme of work covers 13 lessons in which students read the first 5 chapters of Th Hunger Games. The SOW was completed with a high ability YR7 group but could be used and adapted with other KS3 year groups. The SOW focuses on RAF 2,3 and 5 but is more creative towards the end. There is an additional 'Become a Game Maker&' lesson uploaded which is good for challenging the more able and encouraging independent learning.

Lessons look at different elements of reading fiction before focusing on 'The Monkey&'s Paw&'; and then 'The Raven&'. The SOW was completed with a high ability YR9 set but could be used and adapted for KS3 and KS4. SOW ends with a reading assessment, writing an essay on &';The Raven' - essay has been planned and a PEEL paragraph modeled in the last lessons. There is the option to watch Woman in Black at the end of the SOW with worksheets to accompany, focusing students on the Gothic elements of the film.

SOW completed with middle ability YR10 class. Students had read the book in class before beginning the unit. First few lessons provide a recap of context, themes and plot before focusing on Curley's Wife.

Lessons provide an introduction to the study of spoken language. Two assessments included - speaking and listening mid way through the scheme and a reading assessment at the end of the unit. SOW was taught over a six week period with a middle ability YR8 set but could adapt and use throughout KS3.

12 lessons focusing on the theme of conflict in Romeo and Juliet. SOW completed with a middle ability YR10 group. Students complete a mock essay on the theme of hate and focus on four key scenes - A1S1, A1S5, A3S1 and A5S3.

SOW looks at a range of poetry from other cultures and was completed with a low ability YR9 group. It could be used and adapted with different KS3 year groups. Final assessment covers RAF2,3,5,7.

Ten lessons to be used and adapted with YR7. The scheme looks at different aspects of short stories, working towards a reading assessment in which students answer comprehension questions using the PEE structure.

The activity was completed over three hours with a high ability YR7 class. Students worked in mixed ability groups (with the lead game maker as the G&T student) to design their own arena, mutation and descriptive piece before presenting to the rest of the class. Good for challenging the more able and promoting independent learning. Students really enjoyed this lesson. Students discuss what makes a community before inventing their own village. Students then assume their village character (I completed a 'Village Directory&' with students name, their character name and their job/ role within the village to stick into books which worked well). All non-fiction tasks are completed in character. For example, an autobiography, an article for the village newspaper, a persuasive speech, a formal letter of complaint. SOW includes differentiated writing frames and all worksheets/ resources to accompany lessons.

SOW completed with a top set YR9 class. Students study a range of poetry from other cultures. The final assessment compares 'Two Scavengers in a Truck&' and &';Nothing's Chnaged&'. All resources to accompany.

Seven lessons with a festive theme to be used and adapted with YR7 in the run up to Christmas. Students complete a variety of activities, a good mixture of reading and writing as well as opportunities for speaking and listening tasks.

Three lessons using the Diamond Jubilee as inspiration for creative writing task. Lessons were completed with mixed ability YR7 group. Sentence starters to be used for lower ability differentiation and MASSIVE checklist for higher ability.
