7 week plan (word document) containing 1 hour lessons aimed at Year 3&4 Islam R.E covering the following overall objectives: Identify religious aretefacts, how and why they are used. Describe religious buildings and explain how they are used. Explain some of the religious practices of both clerics and individuals. Each weekly objective is below. Week 1 – Getting better at identifying and labelling features of a Mosque. Week 2 – Getting better at understanding the features of a Mosque. Week 3 – Getting better at understanding how Muslims prepare for prayer. Week 4 – Getting better at investigating why pilgrimages are important. Week 5 – Getting better at investigating and comparing different religious pilgrimages. Week 6 – Getting better at understanding the beliefs of the Muslim community. Week 7 – Getting better at understanding how Muslims pass on their beliefs to their children. Links included in document to relevant videos and all work as of February 2022. Some resources included that I have made all word or SMART notebook - some are not included but can be downloaded from Twinkl.

16 week whole class guided reading detailed planning and resources for chapters 1 - 14 of book. Based on completing one lesson per week or 8 week plans if two lessons are completed a week. Planning and powerpoint slides for all lessons included. Used for my Year 4 class but could be used for Y3/5 or 6. After chapter 14 book was used for story time at the end of each day. Some activities reference the ‘Read & Respond’ book but alternatives are given if you do not have that resource. Please enjoy this fantastic story and I hope you enjoy my planning and activities.
