Are your pupils struggling to utilise effectively your Year 5/6 word list? I have used this with my Year 5 and 6 pupils to great effect as they can readily seek out the words suited to the categorised subjects - leading to a wider use of the words across the curriculum. I have included suggested variations of the official spellings, all of which can be used for assessment/moderation purposes. LA pupils in particular find this useful. Printed and laminated, or blown up to A3 and displayed - these are truly useful!

On the back of successfully using a similar resource for Year 5 and 6, I have developed this for Year 3 and 4 pupils - you will find that pupils can more easily utilise this spelling list rather than the original. It is colour coded to help pupils find the correct words. Laminated or blown up to A3 for display - these will increase your pupils’ frequency and accuracy in using the statutory spellings!
