Spelling and grammar targets years 1 - 6 for new curriculum

This resource is a handy tool for teachers. It has every single target for spelling and grammar in columns so you can easily see progression and prior learning. Can be used to aid planning or as a checklist for individual pupils. Alternatively copy and paste the objectives into your own assessment format. This took a long time to do as many targets are usually in pdf version and not easily copied into a word document. I would recommend using this within your assessment. Could also be used by Literacy coordinators or TA's making resources. It is so easy to use.

History KS2 Ancient Greeks Comparison between Athens and Sparta City States

This resource is useful for KS2. A very detailed notebook including definition of ancient, timeline activity, comparisons between Athens and Sparta. Meets the objectives of the new National Curriculum. Introduces the idea of city states and how Athens and Sparta were two rival city states. The children are encouraged to think about and compare: Daily life, Attitudes towards battles and fighting, Education, The roles of men and women, Treatment of children, Type of government (voting or being ruled by kings), How they feel living there, Would they want to change anything? I have linked this lesson with Literacy by asking the children to write a diary entry however this lesson could also be incorporated into drama, role play, map work etc. The notebook contains a very handy page comparing the same elements of both states. The lesson plan is also very detailed so you could teach this lesson from the off, no background reading required.

A super helpful assessment tool for those teachers using Target Tracker. I found that cross referencing and picking apart tests was very time consuming so created bespoke Target Tracker statement assessments for Band 4 SPAG. The test questions are in the order of the statements of target tracker so it is so easy to go through the tests and click each statement accordingly on Target Tracker. Even though they took a lot of time to make, they have gone down a treat in my school so please give these a go!

A lovely resource to be used across all years in primary school. The presentation introduces the children to an unusual type of art and also has a page for teacher modelling and shared class creation. The document also includes ready to print fruit images so the children can create their own fruit faces. I would recommend using black card or paper as the background for effect.

Maths Pairs to 100 (number bonds)

Resource was designed for a Year 4 class following the new curriculum. However can be used for all ages as number bonds are crucial. For instance, it would be suitable for higher achievers in the lower years or you could use for higher years involving an element of speed - recalling number facts as quickly as possible. This resource can also be used to generate competition between students - who can recall the facts the quickest? The presentation is engaging and stimulates paired talk, independent learning and includes teacher modelling. It also follows the correct method of calculation and breaks it down for less able students into using a number line.
