Classroom Behaviour Management System
This behaviour management system is cyclical.
All children will start on the pirate ship and each time they do something good, for example sharing, being kind to friends, good piece of work, tidying up, etc. They move up one.
If at the end of the day, they are on the swamp, they remain on the swamp and that is their starting point for the following day.
At the end of each day, we see who has made it onto the treasure chest and those who are can choose a prize from our real treasure chest. This could be a bag or a shoebox. I usually put in party bag prizes such as yoyos, stickers, bouncy balls, etc.
All the children who have landed on the treasure chest will then go back to the pirate ship for the next day.
The treasure map is displayed at the front of the classroom so that children can track where they are at any point in the day.
I use Velcro to stick the children’s names onto the display.
