Basic comparing fractions worksheet

(1)
A very simple worksheet for comparing fractions. Same method could be used to help students add fractions. Made for a very weak year 8 set. Slowly increases in demand, and has a few open questions for students to think about.

Scaffoled quadratic equation intro sheet

The sheet gives an example of solving a quadratic with the quadratic equation, followed by three “your turn” guided examples, with a few hints and lots of structure. After this I used a more generic practice sheet, telling students to follow the same pattern.

Volume of cylinders investigation

(1)
An open ended investigation relating to the volume of cylinders. Some easy questions to get students started, and then they can spend a long time trying to generalise their results. Aimed for high ability KS3, maybe year 10.

Volume of prisms investigation

An investigation into which prisms give the largest volumes, if the cross sections have the same perimeter. There are some simple questions to get students into it, and then they should spend most of the lesson investigating independently.

Scaffolded factorising quadratics

(0)
A worksheet of 40 questions, factorising quadratics. Seemed to be well paced for students in top and second sets KS3 to get lots of practice. Progressively leaves more blank spaces for students to fill in, and by the end a lot of students have spotted the rule/pattern without even being told. Feedback welcome.

Interactive Vocab Tester

Enter words, definitions and examples to a spreadsheet, and then automatically test your class on them. Go one word at a time, or set a timer per question and display answers at the end. You can filter to only show words you have covered with the class (allowing you to import all the vocab at the start of the year, and just mark as complete once you have gone through it). You can also set up to 7 topics, and filter what you are showing to be any combination of these. You will need to enable macros to run this. If you try to show more words that you have in your database on the timed part it will pause for approximately 20 seconds before showing an error message.
