International Baccalaureate: English Literature and Language SL/HL Key Terminology- Having taught IB for a number of years terminology is one of the areas students struggle with and loose marks. This test is designed to help bridge the gap for Paper 1. Test paper and answers booklet Can be used at the beginning of the course to establish key terminology. Can also be used as a revision tool before or after a mock.

This 6-week scheme covers key skills such as developing thesis statements and understanding Genre, Audience and Purpose as well as providing fully resourced lessons on a variety of text types. From more traditional text types such as travel writing, speeches and letters to more modern text types such as photojournalism and political cartoons, this scheme is fully resourced with a vast number of texts to develop your students’ Paper 1 skills. Students will be thoroughly exposed to a variety of texts and the scheme includes 2 mini- assessments as well as a final assessment. There are also model exemplars for students to unpick and a real focus on the IB learner profile. Suitable for both HL and SL and fully resourced for both. IB Individual Oral - creating and planning- a visual way of supporting students The first part of this resource helps guide students in the creation of their global issue providing an overview of the requirements, exemplars to rank as well as a method to check the quality of them. The second part of this resource is a series of slides that create a step by step guide to planning and building an IO using PETAL- Point, Evidence, Technique, Analyse and Link to the GI as the framework to build the paragraphs.
