Making a Mood Board - IDL

(0)
This activity can be shared with the children in the form of a Microsoft Powerpoint or converted to Google Slides. They are able to work through the in formation slides and activities allowing them to develop colour schemes, patterns and finally a mood board for their design. I used this with a P7 class working at 2nd level 3 when we were doing an IDL project on developing a local gathering place, but this could be adapted for any design project where you want pupils to consider colour, furniture styles and pattern. The final template was printed out A3 size and laminated for our showcase.

Battle of the Bands Budgeting Activity - Second Level

This resource allows the children to choose different stage equipment, keeping to a £10,000 budget. They also have to consider space on stage and colour a stage plan to ensure it all fits. Afterwards they use a £500 budget to choose clothing items and design their outfit which they draw on a body outline. This resource introduces the idea of profit and loss in a band context.

Number Talks - Second Level

Over 100 number talks that I used with a P5 class working at 2nd Level 1 and 1st Level 3. We used these as a class and worked individually or with partners. We shared our strategies after 5 minutes of working out time. We didn’t need an answer, we could share what we had tried and we celebrated mistakes as we loved to find out where we had gone wrong. Some problems lend themselves well to multiple answers as long as these answers were justified. Enjoy!

A very aesthetically pleasing version of boggle which you can print, laminate and display in your classroom with the ability to rotate the letters when required. This is a great morning starter activity. Also included is an aesthetically pleasing version of boggle with numbers 1 - 30 allowing you to provide appropriate challenge and differentiation when required.
