This set of resources is for a lesson about King David. The idea is that students learn to understand the story of David (and Goliath) before they consider themes and the idea of a hero. Good drama activity to get students involved and a number of worksheets.

Christianity and the Media resources Year 7

This set of lessons supports a 6 lesson focus on Christianity and the Media for Year 7. In Lesson One, students are introduced to the idea of Media and encouraged to consider how Christianity is portrayed. This is achieved through a mix of clips which students can record their thoughts on using the table provided. Within the review document are three different templates for students to use. An extra activity of a debate is provided for those who complete this quickly. Lesson Two allows us to consider Evan Almighty in more detail before focusing on news articles linked to Christianity. Use the articles and annotate these with ideas, creating a presentation to share at the beginning of the next lesson. Lesson Three allows us to consider the idea of censorship in the media. The project is due to be carried out over 3 lessons and a study of 20 minutes before presentation day. Each lesson plan is developed for a 1 hour and 10 minute lesson.
