Resources for teaching and revision. Each page covers one lesson from Edexcel MTT and Medicine on the Western Front in a really accessible pack. Forms the backbone of my teaching and these have proved very popular, especially for revision. Also included contents pages and clearly clunked into the medieval, renaissance, industrial and modern sections.

A KS3 lesson looking at how England was created during te period of the Anglo-Saxons and the Vikings. Looks at a selection of rulers (Alfred the Great, Athelstan, Cnut etc) and their impact. Resources are all included within the powerpoint

A KS3 lesson that looks at medieval beliefs on medicine and how they tried to treat various illnesses and conditions. A bit gross. A bit funny. Final task asks them to review the effectiveness of these methods from the point of view of a medieval doctor. Used before I introduce the Black Death. All resources within the PP.

A KS3 lesson looking at the causes, beliefs and symptoms of the Black Death. A bit of background and some gross facts that the students always enjoy. Final tasks asks them to report back to the government on the arrival of the disease. Another lesson looks at the longer term impacts/.

A KS3 lesson looking at the impact of the Black Death. Main task looks at the short to long term impact that gets them to rank them. Teaches the point that over time the lives of the peasants actually improve.

A KS3 lesson looking at the origins, life and impact of Joan of Arc. Students examine her life before looking at what happened to her and considering the different points of view (i.e. is she a witch or a martyr).

A KS3 lesson looking at the life in the trenches (other than simply the fighting). Examined the differing viewpoints - its boring Vs its terrifying. All resources are included.

A KS3 lesson looking at the origins and immediate causes of the Hundred Years War with focus on King Edward I. Students explain the significance of these reason then explain what they believe to be the most significance.

A KS3 lesson looking at the Magna Carta and its significance. Students understand its intend before making their own Magna Carta and then looking at some of the key terms from the real Magna Carta. Then rank the most significant and explain their reasoning

An engaging KS3 lesson looking at some of the main events of the Hundred Years War. Students look at events and plot them on a living graphs based on how much of a success that represents for England. Intended to get across the scale of the war and the fact that despite winning most of the big battles, England is still defeated in the end. Resources included.

A KS3 lesson looking at Edward III, the king that started the Hundred Years War. Examined historian Dr Ian Mortimer’s claim that he was the ‘perfect king’. The main task is active reading - looking at the whole story of his life. Students then respond to the claim themselves

A KS3 lesson looking at the background and evidence that is intended to answer the question of whether or not Richard III had his nephews murdered. References of up to date research and historical interpretations.

A KS3 lesson looking at the Gunpowder Plot of 1605. Includes a bit of background, the story (active reading sheet main task) and some questions at the end to consolidate their knowledge. .

A KS3 lesson that looks at the causes, main events and immediate consequences of the Peasants Revolt. Choice of main tasks. Either a storyboard task or an active reading task. Used each depending on ability.

All lessons from the Edexcel Superpower Relations paper condensed into a page each. This is intended to be used as a learning resource in lessons, for revision, to identify any gaps in knowledge and other. These have been the backbone of much of my planning over the last few years and are very popular for students on this tricky paper. Each of my lessons are summarised into a very accessible page each. Also includes a knowledge checklist and a timeline overview.

Every lesson from the Edexcel Germany paper condensed down to a page each (34 in total). Intended to act as a resource as part of a lesson or as revision. One page each makes it really clear to access. Also included a checklist/contents of all the lessons for each access and to allow students to assess their own learning and target areas that they need to work on. These have been really popular with my students and have made the backbone of my teaching over the last few years.

Each lesson from the Early Elizabethan England Edexcel course condensed onto a page each. This is great for revision, resources and familiarising new teachers with the course. This has been the back bone of my teaching over the last few years and contains everything that I need my students to know. Each page contains everything they need to know for that lesson (e.g the Religious Settlement, the Revolt of the Northern Earls etc). The intention is that it’s really accessible and clear. Also contains a contents page for students to track their learning and a timeline.

A KS3 lesson looking at how WW1 came to an end. Activities include a reading task on events (Spring Offensive etc) and examining the various reasons before coming to their own conclusions.

A lesson, usually done with Year 9, looking at the events of the CMC. Starts with a brief overview of the wider Cold War. Main task is an engaging storyboard tasks then with a focus on significance - students have to determine how significant the event was and why, Resources all in the PP
