Things to Re"meme"ber - Classroom expectations memes!

(22)
This resource is a powerpoint which can be used in a few different ways. It can be used as a powerpoint in the first lesson with a new class in order to introduce classroom expectations. It could also be used in a whole school assembly. Alternatively, the slides can be printed out and displayed in classrooms as a visual reminder of the rules. It is a handy way of teaching classroom expectations in a light-hearted way and introduce a bit of personality into an otherwise relatively mundane part of the back to school routine. The memes make the rules accessible to students and the images can be beneficial to EAL students. I'm an NQT so please feel free to make my day and leave a review! Enjoy!

'Writing like a Champion' PEEL paragraph display including sustained judgement

(8)
Included in this resource is everything you will need to create this 'Writing like a Champion' display. It includes the title and all word documents necessary to recreate this board in your own classroom. The board is divided into 5 to include starter sentences for each of the components of PEEL paragraphs alongside student friendly advice on making a sustained judgement. However, it should be easily adaptable if you don't follow the Point, Evidence, Explain and Link method. Please note - the small white letters which spell out Point, Evidence, Explain, Link and Sustained judgement are not included as I bought them from Hobbycraft. Also, a couple of the resources (for example the E in the circle) will need printing twice as you need two of them to complete the display. Celebrity inspirational quotes

(0)
A selection of 16 inspirational quotes from celebrities including authors, actors and musicians. I was interested in making some inspirational quote posters for my classroom but wanted to make sure they were from someone the students had heard of and could relate to. I asked students for a list of famous people who inspired them and made A3 posters from their responses. The celebrities include Ariana Grande, Beyonce, Cara Delevingne, Emma Watson, J K Rowling, Jared Leto, Jessica Ennis-Hill, Kanye West, Margot Robbie, Mark Zuckerburg, Nicki Minaj, Prince William, Roald Dahl, Ryan Gosling, Tom Hardy and Tupac so it's quite a variety! The quotes focus mainly on the importance of self belief and aiming high because these are ideals I wish to instil in my students. Please share and enjoy!

Fishing for connectives display

(0)
This colourful under-the-sea themed display includes 30 different connectives grouped by their uses: To put ideas in order. To add evidence. To add more information. To explain. To emphasise. To contrast. To conclude. As well as all of the connectives on different shaped fish, it also includes all signage including a ‘Gone fishing…for connectives’ sign. I use it with my KS3 students in order to encourage them to use more connectives in their written work and develop their answers. Edit - In the previews, it looks like the connectives are written across the fish but in reality all of the words are actually inside the fish templates so the display is much neater than the previews suggest!
