This is a scaffold sheet and suggested content for a response to the question: Explore the significance of Offred’s interactions with Ofglen in the novel. You should consider: • The presentation of their interactions in the extract below and at different points in the novel • The use of fantasy elements in constructing a fictional world This can be used as an essay plan or scaffold sheet. I have also used it after a student has tried this response independently, to upskill and improve their response.

This is a peer assessment activity, that uses a model response. The students read through the response, mark and feedback using the Assessment objective criteria. This has worked really well with getting the students to understand the application of the AO’s!
