I used those games during the lesson in Year 4 and later send one version home to play as homework. Pupils played in pairs and used counters to mark their word. They played until one of them got 4 in a row. There are two versions - game 1 has suffixes given in each row; game 2 for higher ability - to add as many suffixes as they can (list of possible suffixes is included on the board). Have fun!

I used the presentation and worksheet as a memory game: I showed one slide to the class/they looked while I read the names/I covered it/pupils matched animals on their worksheet. Then pupils designed 'calligrams&' to help them remember the meaning of words. Here are my examples as a guide.

Spanish weather phrases - for students to add pictures and the correct verb (hace or está). I made it for Year 4 and used along with the song that I found on YouTube. The class was able to identify some verbs and the meaning of some phrases listening to the song. The song also revises days of the week. The second slide has answers for the octagon.

Nursery rhyme introducing family members in Spanish - link to you tube clip as well as the downloaded song in mp4 format. Whiteboard file includes fun activity to put in the books. I also explained a little bit the gender (la madre, el padre). Teacher's notes are included in the flipchart as well. As a class we also translated the song, so that we can sing it whole in Spanish to the same tune.
