(0)
AQA Paper 1 practice based on reading Animal Farm. SOL, assessment papers, markschemes & PowerPoints are designed to develop skills needed for year 10s who will go on to sit AQA Language Paper. All resources are styled with paper 1 questions, e.g the benchmark assessment early on is based on chapter 1. Later the whole of AQA paper 1 style questions are based on chapter 5 and will help measure progress of skills taught over the weeks. There are two additional practice papers (based on extracts from chapters 3 & 7) in resource folders labelled L6-9 and L10 -11 to give students as much practice as possible in between assessments. Examples of good answers and student pack makes it easy to use PowerPoints and upload material on to students' shared area.

Subject Terminology Display/ Reference

(0)
This PowerPoint has ready to use slides that can be a great source of reference especially as GCSE syllabuses require students to know key words from recognising an adverb to satire. User friendly font makes this great for a wall display as a reference point in the classroom. Ideally, print on 4 different pastel coloured A4 paper and laminate- that way to differentiate you could give students a clue to the word by referring to the colour. The more students have to refer to the display, the better their retention as this aids memory.

Giving feedback using mail merge

(0)
If your school is asking you to save students' marks for assessments on excel sheet and then give them feedback on those same marks then you can save time by mail merging. Reduce the workload/ admin and use students' profiles, targets, date and a bank of comments to make individualised feedback sheets more effective. Once made, you could use them for parents' evening and you can copy and paste info for intervention or Ofsted. Other benefits are that you could have a record of feedback if books get lost, feedback looks neat and you could use the exact wording of markscheme and the comments bank will save you time while giving quality feedback. There are 2 documents- a simplified 6 step guide and a more detailed step-by-step guide to get you started.
