It is a text heavy, but includes information about the set products, the relevant theories and contexts. They liked that it had information on each product, one slide each. You can send this, or print on A3 and A4. Feel free to edit to your own liking. For Component 2, we focused on Life on Mars, Vogue and Zoella.

For AS Media WJEC/Eduqas I have downloaded the full episode of Life on Mars and have also created a character profile and industry sheet. The students will need to be familiar with the BBC, how it is an example of a public service broadcaster and their remit.

A good resource for those introducing Media Industries, using the set product, 'Straight Outta Compton'. I am in the middle of making a separate PowerPoint resource for this set product. I am getting the students to understand the differences between production, distribution and exhibition, as well as key terms such as convergence, vertical integration and viral marketing etc. The PowerPoint should be up by the end of the week.

My students found it difficult to understand the jargon used by the theorists, so a breakdown with 'friendlier words' was the best way forward.
