For Upper Primary to lower Secondary. Some background knowledge of phrase used in Chinese for shopping and haggling is needed. Kevin Koala is trying to buy a hat. the shop assistant shows him a hat which he tries on and likes. The shop assistant then asks Kevin if he would like to buy it, to which Kevin replies Duōshăo qián? (How much?) The students need to place the correct phrases in the correct speech bubbles and then continue the conversation. Follow up activities could include creating a comic strip and / or a play to act out to the class.
