Private & Public Limited Companies PowerPoints and Activities

(2)
Private & Public Limited Companies PowerPoints and Activities 2 PowerPoints each of which should last for an hours lesson. With the Private Limited Company PowerPoint one of my slides has pictures of Ltds in my local area, but you could change this to your school's area to make it more relevant for your class. I included a writing frame as differentiation to assist weaker students to write about PLCs. The PLC table activity provides information on various PLCs which I printed onto A3 paper and placed on different tables around the room. Each student was given the blank table into which they could write information about the companies. (They don't have time to write everything - it's just to give them a little information). We then had a discussion about the similarities between the companies to point out the features of PLCs. I've also included a list of keywords and their definitions.

PESTLE Analysis PowerPoint, video clip, case study sheet and summary sheet

I made this for my Year 11 Enterprise class on PESTLE analysis to answer the question on external factors that usually appears on the exam paper. The PowerPoint starts with asking the students to recall what PESTLE stands for (or try to guess if they haven't done it before) and then play the YouTube clip. I have a small class so I asked them to number themselves 1 to 6 and write as many factors as they can on one PESTLE factor and then link that to the company on their case study (a coffee shop). I also have a case study information sheet on Starbucks to provide more information. Students can use the summary sheet to record their information. However, I have also taught the same lesson to a larger class (not as a revision lesson) where I put the class into 6 groups and do a carousel activity by providing books or handouts at each station so that they can research their heading, before moving on to the next.

This is a lesson applying the Marketing Mix to a chocolate bar. By the end of the lesson, the students should have applied the 4 P's of the Marketing Mix to their own chocolate bar. I use this for Year 9's.

I made this specifically for the Cambridge National in Enterprise and Marketing (J819). Section R066, Learning Outcome 1: Be able to develop a brand identity and promotional plan to target a customer profile. There are PowerPoints for each of the three parts (1.1 Build a brand strategy, 1.2 Plan brand ideas for a business challenge, 1.3 Promote a product) , and a worksheet to accompany each of these for students to fill in while watching the PowerPoint (with the answers filled in for the teachers). There are also additional worksheets that I downloaded from the internet or colleagues which are relevant to the topics. This should last for at least three lessons.

Statement of Financial Position / Balance Sheet

Lesson PowerPoint Worksheet Answer sheet Video explaining the Balance Sheet Workbook I prepared this resource for my Year 12 class who are studying Unit 3: Personal and Business Finance of the BTEC National Level 3 in Business. However, you could use this for GCSE level, or as an introduction to the topic for A Level students. There is sufficient content for a double lesson here. If you refer to the document as a Balance Sheet, you can replace the term by using the ‘Replace’ facility (on the right of the PowerPoint or Word ‘Home’ page to find all of the instances and replace them automatically. Obviously I cannot take any credit for writing the 'What are Statements of Financial Position All About?" workbook - I just changed the term ‘Balance Sheet’ to ‘Statement of Financial Position’. However, I used it in my lesson so I have included it here too.

Lesson presentation explaining the sources of finance for businesses. This lesson is based on Learning Aim D of the BTEC Business Unit 3 course. There are some links to clips or websites, as well as definitions, advantages and disadvantages of the different sources of finance. There is also a worksheet for students to fill in the definitions, advantages and disadvantages, which they can then use for their revision. I spent a double lesson delivering this to my Year 12 class.
