Climate Change and Eco-Emotions Assembly and Tutor Time Resource
A ready-to-use Climate Change and Eco-Emotions resource for secondary students, designed for Mental Health Week or whole-school sustainability work. This pack includes an assembly PPT, tutor time PPT and full assembly script to help pupils aged 11–15 explore eco-anxiety, climate emotions, wellbeing and realistic climate action.
The resource encourages students to understand that feelings such as worry, anger, guilt, hope and motivation are normal responses to climate change. It supports safe discussion, reduces isolation and helps pupils move from feeling overwhelmed to feeling supported. Activities include a climate key-word quiz, emotional check-ins, discussion prompts, reflection tasks and practical action ideas such as reducing waste, repairing, reusing, volunteering, planting, campaigning and talking to trusted adults.
The assembly and tutor session also highlight the role of nature in tackling climate change, including forests, wetlands, oceans, wildlife and biodiversity. The materials are designed to be sensitive, age-appropriate and hopeful, with a strong focus on wellbeing, safeguarding and positive action rather than guilt or fear.
Ideal for secondary schools, PSHE, tutor time, assemblies, Mental Health Week, Climate Mental Health Week, eco-schools work, sustainability education and environmental awareness lessons.
