A visually appeasing PowerPoint presentation clearly showing students how to compose a song using 4 chords. It gives instructions for both right and left hand piano/keyboard, as well as song structure guidance. The ‘help sheet’ is given to students to use to guide them when composing their songs independently. I have used this resource successfully in both a Primary and Secondary school setting.

I use this grid to teach students how their performances will be graded. It is an excellent teaching tool as, by assessing their peers on their performances, students are gaining an in depth understanding as to what is needed to succeed in their own performances. The grid is visually appealing.

I not only use these flash cards as a teaching tool, I print many of them out so that the children can use them to compose and play around with different variations of rhythms. I’ve used them in numerous topics such as: African Drumming topic, Keyboard Skills topic, Glockenspiel topc etc.

A Power Point presentation that I produced for my year 10 and 11 students covering the ‘Concerto through time’ content needed for their GCSE. I tried to make this as clear, structured and interactive as possible (with in built tasks and hyperlinks). I used it this year with my students for the first time and most of them managed to identify the differences between the concerto’s from the different type periods excellently, so really pleased with it! :) Hope you all find it as effective as I did!

I have tried to make this as interactive as possible with activities and hyperlinks included. This has worked excellently well with my students who have been engaged throughout this topic! A Music for Film PowerPoint that shows students how to compose for both heroic movie scenes and scary movie scenes. I use this visually engaging PowerPoint as a guidance resource for the Music for Film topic that we use in KS3. Ths PowerPoint enables independant learning as students are able to access it either from their computers in class or as printouts, in order to help them with their compositions.

A presentation (41 slides) with information and interactive activities for the following topics: Staff notation Pulse and metre Intervals Cadences Time signatures Harmony I used some of this for KS3 and used all of it with my KS4 classes (One lesson was used for each topic). Highly interactive and effective.

This Reggae PowerPoint has information on the Origins of Reggae, Bob Marley, Rastafarianism, the guitar chords to the ‘One Love’ chorus and information on how to work out guitar chord grids. This PowerPoint includes YouTube links and text animations. It is also pretty to look at which will also help to engage your students. I am currently using this resource as part of the year 8 ‘Reggae’ scheme of work and feel that it would be most appropriate for KS3 use. However, this PowerPoint could be used from primary level all the way upto KS4 if need be!

A Power Point presentation (22 slides) containing information about the different instrument families of the orchestra, images of the main instruments in each family, and videos showing solo performances of each instrument. Highly informative and effective. I have used this resource with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Pupils have been engaged throughout as they are able to see and hear the instruments being played.

The colours chosen for these solfege cards are directly linked to the colours used in the prodigies play scheme.
