Aim
To help learners recognise emotions, build emotional vocabulary, and develop self-regulation skills through interactive gameplay.
Description
The Zones of Regulation Snap and Pairs Game uses anime-style emotion cards from the Blue, Green, Yellow, and Red Zones. When a learner gets a snap or a matching pair, they identify the emotion and complete a short Language for Behaviour task linked to that emotion.
Outcomes
Improve their ability to recognise and name emotions.
Develop a better understanding of how emotions affect behaviour.
Increase their emotional vocabulary and communication skills.
Learn and practise positive coping and self-regulation strategies.
Build confidence in discussing feelings and seeking support when needed.
What You Get
Four emotion card sheets, one for each Zone of Regulation (Blue, Green, Yellow, and Red). Each emotion card includes a Language for Behaviour activity to encourage discussion, reflection, and emotional understanding.
To create the Snap game, you will need to print four copies of each zone sheet.
What You Will Need to Do
Print all resources in colour.
Cut out each emotion card from the different zones.
Arrange the cards in laminating pouches, leaving approximately 5 mm of space between each card.
Laminate the sheets.
Use a guillotine to cut out the individual cards, leaving a small laminated border around each one for durability.
Sort the cards and they are ready to use for Snap, Pairs, or other emotional literacy activities.
