Crane project where children use their knoweldge of structures and pulleys to create a crane from wood. The resources include all lessons (SMART notebook and resources for all parts of the DT process (Research, Design, Generate, Make and evaluate). The outcome resources are sign posted within the SMART notebook so it’s easy to follow and the outcome will be a booklet that the children will complete throughout the teaching and hopefully a working crane. The teaching also focuses on skills and qualities needed to be a technician as well as introducing children to budgets. It has links to relevant websites to support teaching. Aimed at Y5 or Y6
