This is a powerpoint document which goes through many of the criteria from the practical exam paper. The intent is to offer students advice on what they should do with regard to specific questions.

This is a fairly quick activity which can be used at any point in a lesson including a starter or a plenary. There are a range of errors which students can make when writing balanced equations. In this activity students are given a word equation and time to balance it in. All students start off with points, but points are subtracted for errors. A list of common errors is supplied for teachers. Only one equation is given, teachers may add more if they wish. A reflection page is also provided for students to identify
