This unit of oracy work encourages students to reflect on the importance of words and develop skills of discussion and persuasion, with links to literacy and English. The scheme is engaging and interactive, with students taking part in 1:1, small group and whole class discussions and partaking in the marking and reflection processes.

Through this scheme of work, students are introduced to the concept of oracy and supported to create and deliver a presentation about themselves. The 7 lessons springboard from homework set as part of the transition process from primary to secondary school (writing a letter to introduce themselves).
