Just something to introduce these three to Year 10...please rate it. It's a work in progress, I will be editing it and updating it as I work through these lessons with my class.Students enjoyed marking on the effects on the body outline. I have added some comments in the notes section of the powerpoint.

I've seen some other dictionary skills resources and I thought I would add my own slant. I've given examples in French/German/Spanish where possible. This could be used at the start of the GCSE course or as a quick Review at the start of Year 11. Please leave any feedback - it would be appreciated!

Having done mock speaking exams with the new spec (2026), I have created a powerpoint of starter activities, including: photos with Foundation/Higher additional (follow-up) questions, role play practise and one minute verbs (students to try and figure out as many of the verbs as they can in one minute, timer built-in).

Following mock speaking exams, I have created some starters (enough for about 50 lessons?) based on practising role plays, photos and verbs. Photos - when viewing in slideshow mode, possible follow up questions appear by click (Foundation and Higher). Role plays - I have taken and adapted from the Edexcel spec. One Minute Verbs - has a timer in slideshow mode, students to figure out as many of the 5 verbs as possible.

This is to practise typical tasks from the role play part of the new (2026) Edexcel Role plays - GCSE French. Use it in slideshow mode, click a number between 1 and 65. It gives you a task (I’ve gone through the tasks in the specimen papers across F/G/S)…with images to give students ideas. Students could do this on w/boards If you click to advance the slide, it will give you a suggested answer. Students could also try to translate it. Or if they’re stuck for ideas, show them the suggested answer. Click the French symbol to go back to the number page.

Refers to the 10 settings for Edexcel role plays being examined from Summer 2026. Operates in slide show mode. Select a number and it takes you to a different challenge from the role plays. Students try to figure out what they would say in that instance. Then on the mouseclick a possible answer appears. Could use this as read out loud or translation practise. Click the Spanish flag to take you back to that start page.

A couple of powerpoints I have made for the topic of school linked with the Edexcel Spanish textbook (higher). I couldn't really find much (anything?) on TES for these topics in the book. I hope you find them useful.

Having read a thread about songs to describe family members. I decided I'd record myself in advance of a lesson so that I didn't forget the words!!!!! The tune is 'Sur le pont d&'Avignon'.

An introduction Activity about telling the time in Spanish with a Quiz at the end.

These are 3 lessons to cover key phrases linked to the 10 settings of Edexcel (taught from 2024) role plays. It got my students thinking about how they could tackle role plays. Includes role play practise adapted from Edexcel specimen tasks.

Used with Y11s ahead of their mock speaking exam, but could be use at any point during the GCSE course. Tips and strategies to cope with the read aloud aspect in the Edexcel speaking ppaer.

A Powerpoint based on the content of Listos 2 (v and r) section in Modulo 2 'Que aproveche'. To be used in conjunction with the book (for Listening activities). Vocabulary Quiz at end. 'Que aproveche 2' is the same but with a few extra slides I have added.

A dominoes game for students - each student has a card with an answer and question on it. Number 1 starts, reads his/her question. The rest of the class look to see if theirs is the right answer. Could be used as a starter.

Based on pages 26-7 of Mira 2. Practising using sequencing words.

To use with Year 9, covering... whether you get pocket money, who from and whether it's sufficient. I was going to make the starter activity a revision of numbers but haven't put it on there (yet). An introduction of basic vocab!

Here are a series of 5 lessons in one powerpoint, which could be used as a starting point when talking about the Women’s Euro 2025 tournament taking place in Switzerland. L1 – countries participating, past winner, flags L2 – Reading about country + players L3 – describing or designing your own kit L4 – body parts / sports injuries L5 – describing outcomes of games / who will win / visit to a game. Sentence building My German and Spanish resources on the same topic are coming soon. Maybe ideal for the last couple of weeks of term, particularly if you’re looking for something to keep students going.

Dealing with the unpredictable elements of the B and C role play (Edexcel). I’ve taken the context and the unpredictable tasks from one year (2004) and put them onto one powerpoint. I will be using this with mini white boards - students should write their responses as quickly as possible on the boards.

This is the same document as I have already uploaded - but saved in Powerpoint version 2003-2007. This activity is about how people get on and why. It also reinforces adjectives of personality and marital status.

I'm using this with my very low ability group to allow for independent working on the topic of pocket money, chores, what you do with money and jobs.
