Sentence building L6 – Speaking GCSE Style activities - based around Edexcel exam board requirements but can be adapted (photo description / read aloud / role play) Plus a glossary/knowledge organiser of key vocab, which could be printed off to support if you are using all/nearly all of these lessons.

Just something to introduce these three to Year 10...please rate it. It's a work in progress, I will be editing it and updating it as I work through these lessons with my class.Students enjoyed marking on the effects on the body outline. I have added some comments in the notes section of the powerpoint.

I've seen some other dictionary skills resources and I thought I would add my own slant. I've given examples in French/German/Spanish where possible. This could be used at the start of the GCSE course or as a quick Review at the start of Year 11. Please leave any feedback - it would be appreciated!

This is to practise typical tasks from the role play part of the new (2026) Edexcel Role plays - GCSE German Use it in slideshow mode, click a number between 1 and 65. It gives you a task (I’ve gone through the tasks in the specimen papers across F/G/S)…with images to give students ideas. Students could do this on w/boards If you click to advance the slide, it will give you a suggested answer. Students could also try to translate it. Or if they’re stuck for ideas, show them the suggested answer. Click the German flag to go back to the number page.

A couple of powerpoints I have made for the topic of school linked with the Edexcel Spanish textbook (higher). I couldn't really find much (anything?) on TES for these topics in the book. I hope you find them useful.

Having read a thread about songs to describe family members. I decided I'd record myself in advance of a lesson so that I didn't forget the words!!!!! The tune is 'Sur le pont d&'Avignon'.

Following mock speaking exams, I have created some starters (enough for about 50 lessons?) based on practising role plays, photos and verbs. Photos - when viewing in slideshow mode, possible follow up questions appear by click (Foundation and Higher). Role plays - I have taken and adapted from the Edexcel spec. One Minute Verbs - has a timer in slideshow mode, students to figure out as many of the 5 verbs as possible.

A stand-alone lesson linked to gender/sexuality/rights in Spanish. How the Spanish language has adapted to be more inclusive. With activities such as spotting gender neutral vocabulary in a fake social media account. Plus a translation activity (Sp-Eng & Eng-Sp) as well as a read-aloud. Thinking about the 6 Themes for Edexcel GCSE (2024), I’ve considered likely vocabulary and verbs needed to describe possible photos. Some of my own students just don’t say enough about photos despite plenty of practice. Will use these so that they can think about likely photos. A dominoes game for students - each student has a card with an answer and question on it. Number 1 starts, reads his/her question. The rest of the class look to see if theirs is the right answer. Could be used as a starter.

Dealing with the unpredictable elements of the B and C role play (Edexcel). I’ve taken the context and the unpredictable tasks from one year (2004) and put them onto one powerpoint. I will be using this with mini white boards - students should write their responses as quickly as possible on the boards.
