A murder mystery for ks3 - you can choose who the murderer is as a teacher so that the resource can be used again. All characters has suitable motives and access to weapons encouraging students to discuss, infer and compare in order to present the most convincing argument. For those who would like a Murderer - it is Henry Holt as revenge. You can also add in ‘time to die’ cards to take out characters who have been red herrings at certain points in the lesson - for example after the autopsy report and again after the revelations envelopes.

Based on what I saw for Paper 1 AQA Q5, a series of approximately 3 lessons for Ks4 and longer for Ks3 or weaker ability groups, going through word level, text level planning tools to avoid stories that don’t hit the mark for the GCSE spec.
