Resource to support sensory stories and linked learning for SEND/ASD/EYFS.
This resources pack is one I used to support my ASD children in a resource base following a sensory story. It includes story sequencing, same and different matching (animals and fruit).
Guide on activities:
-Same and Different (Page 1 board and cards page 2, 1st row) - the children look at the the two fruits in the picture and match the same and different cards.
Word reading, children link the animals with the sight word (page 3 and page 2, 2nd row).
Simple, 4 step story sequencing (cards on page 4, board on page 5).
What fruit did the animal steal activity for comprehension (board page 6 and cards on page 4).
matching real fruit images with symbols for supporting aided communication (page 7 board and page 8 cards).
Matching written words to numerals activity boards and formation templates. Used with SEND children in a resource base setting. Applicable to KS1 too.
Used with ASD learners but may also be useful for cognition and learning. This can be adapted to support both reading and writing numerals as word
Recommended use:
Print (and potentially laminate) the boards.
Cut up the corresponding cards and mix them in a random order in front of the child. Ask them to find the written numeral and match it on the board.
