Understand what is meant by the term ‘stress’
Appreciate how common stress is, especially amongst teenagers
Identify the factors that make them stressed
Gain an appreciation of the differences and similarities between what makes different people stressed
Recognise the emotional, physical, behavioural, and cognitive signs of stress and identify which of these they experience when stressed
Understand the positive and negative consequences of stress
Identify helpful and unhelpful ways of coping with stress
Identify some helpful coping strategies that they can use next time they are stressed
Know where they can seek further help and advice
