This includes pictures of two types of Viking ships, a matching activity about types of Viking ships and a labelling activity - labelling parts of a longship.

Fact file type worksheets with blanks to fill on: hieroglyphics, River Nile, Pyramids. There are also a number of pictures of Ancient Egyptian clothing and a template to make your own pyramid. I decorated the pyramids with hieroglyphics (initials of the child's names)

These are resources I made for our working wall in Literacy (upper KS2). They are quite generic for a number of genres and can be easily adapted.It includes a colourful title for your display. I laminated most of the headings and stuck them up with blue tack so they could be removed easily. Also stick up whiteboards for children's ideas.

This is to help students revise their written work. I have broken it down into sections with specific things for them to focus on. I have created it as often children seem to struggle in this area. Hope it is useful. Any suggestions to add to this are welcome!

Word problems for children to calculate and then work out whether to round up or down.

A flashcard/self assessment challenge for pupils. I have put a few aspects of punctuation and sentence structure on here. The children are awarded points depending on the level of punctuation /connectives they use. I have tried to link this in with progression through the levels on the APP grids. It can easily be adapted. I tend to give children bonus points depending on what we are working on. For example: extra points for good openers. It seems to work well for both peer assessment and self assessment.

Interactive whiteboards to support Wind in the Willows and Just William texts from an Older Literature unit. Include sentence level activities relating to story writing and play script.

Flashcards of famous buildings in London from the present time for children to identify. I used this to introduce London as a place to see what the children already knew before looking at London 1666. The pictures can then be used to create a tourist brochure using the 'Visit London' file attached by matching up the correct pictures with the information. The children then fill in the missing information and present it to friends/family for their next visit to London.

This is a proofreading activity based on text from Wind In The Willows. It includes the text which is not properly punctuated on a whiteboard for children to punctuate. It contains answers on the following slide. I have also created a sheet with the same text on it to go with it. Good to use as a starter activity.

A selection of pictures, mainly selected from Pinterest, for creative writing. The pictures have some questions alongside them to prompt the children's thinking. I have found these useful in getting the children engaged in writing - particularly boys. Can be used as a powerpoint or printed off onto small cards and laminated, so that individuals can choose the one they find interesting. I will try and add more as and when I create them!

This is a detailed and colourful checklist for use with descriptive and fiction writing. It can be used at any point during the writing process or by the student for self-assessment. It is quite visual and it is easy for the students to see where they can make progress. Aimed at Y5/6 and 11+ writing.

This is a set of questions to go with chapter 1 of ‘Code Name Bananas’ by David Walliams. It also has some work on the main character Eric. I hope to make more, as we work through the book. This would be suitable for upper KS1/lower KS2.

This can be made into a booklet retelling the story of Tutankhamun. It is based on a book by Usborne about Tutankhamun. It includes pictures to colour and blanks to fill which may need to be supplied.
