Looking at different equipment in the lab. There is information about each piece of equipment which you can print out and put around the room. They need to find the information and fill in their sheets.

With the states of matter circus station, print it out and put them around the room. If you also have a balloon, piece of wood and a 2 cups of water they love playing with them and gets them engaged.

Year 8’s second practical.

A powerpoint using looking at independent, dependent and control variables. For this lesson I also bought 6 metals tins. Inside I put different objects and they had to guess which object was in each tin. Tin (control variable), object (independent variable), sound it made (dependent variable).
