Mexican day of the dead art lessons
Art Scheme of work for theme of ‘Mexican day of the dead’ .
The scheme is aimed at keystage 3 but could be adapted for both keystage 2/4.
Scheme includes cultural starter and ‘do it now’ recall tasks
There are 3 drawing tasks included in this SOW with resources to assist the teaching
1st drawing task is an experimental ink and pattern drawing
2nd is focusing on line and tone (full skull) observational study
3rd is combining tone and observation to create a personal response.
All tasks have coloured step by step photographs to show process
Food technology 'Do it now' tasks
11 seperate ‘Do it now tasks’ (also known as the starter task).
One task for every lesson in a term if you do one practical and one theory.
Can be used with GCSE catering and hospitality. Questions have been customised to fit both keystages.
MDF Design and technology mini practical task
A pictoral step by step of how to make a MDF peg paper clip.
This project introduces the students to the workshop, basic tools and safe practice.
The outcome is a xmas design but the theme could be changed to suit.
This task should take around 5/6 lessons from start to finish
Experimenting with media and materials
This lesson will assist year 9-11 with GCSE experimentation using the theme of ‘War and conflict’.
AO2: Refine work by exploring ideas, selecting and experimenting with appropriate media, materials, techniques and processes.
Creating a surface of coffee as a background to draw onto.
This will take approx 3 lessons to complete to a high standard.
Inspiration images of eyes included along side outlines for differentiation to trace if needed.
