A lesson on Heaney’s poem Digging.

A fun lesson to introduce the topic of Heroes and Villains. I created this for a year 6 transition lesson up to year 7. Would be a fun KS3 cover lesson or introduction to topic. Students discuss with oracy tasks the effectiveness of Heroes and villains. Students start with a fun task of getting their own monster to turn into top trumps cards for a later battle royale preliminary task. And creating a basic description of their monster. Then there is a creative writing task to use their description in the introduction to story. Ending with peer assessment and battle royale top trumps.
