The Sign of Four

(0)
12 lessons on Arthur Conan Doyle’s ‘The Sign of the Four’, with a focus on AQA GCSE English Literature Paper 1. These lessons have been used for low ability sets (target grades 2-5) and top sets (target grades 7-9) so they are very accessible and can be differentiated accordingly. Each lesson links to the Assessment Objectives, and the 12 lessons together help cover some of the main ideas, themes, characters (AO1) and context (AO3) in the novel. They also look at language and structure and their effects on the Victorian reader (AO2). The lessons link to key extracts and give students the opportunity to anaylse the extracts and practise exam skills. I have made an essay planning grid that can also be used for the Shakespeare question on AQA GCSE Literature Paper 1. Contains 12 powerpoints and resources for the lessons.
