(1)
This twelve week module is designed for Year 7 students but includes a broad range of tasks for students of all abilities including a range of challenge activities. The module is supported by a Teacher Delivery Pack with an outline of each lesson and opportunities for assessment. The resource includes: Teacher Delivery Pack - Lesson plans for each lesson (2 per week). The pack is detailed and includes additional space for notes, behaviour and achievements points, absences and key points for home learning and assessment. Student Work Booklet - This is designed for use with Google Docs and Google Classroom but can be easily printed as work booklets. Each booklet includes a broad range of tasks covering all topics in the module including challenge tasks. Lesson Slides - Supporting lesson slides for each lesson to support with the delivery of lessons. Baseline Assessment - This is a Google Form but I have included all the questions as a PDF document too. Example marking for the Key Assessment at the end of the module. All resources are supplied in a range of formats and can also be shared as Google Drive Documents which will include the interactive baseline test. This is one of 6 modules that I have developed for Key Stage 3 and is part of a set including a Long Term Plan, Assessment Grids for Year 7 and 8 as well as a range of Independent Study tasks covering all topics and both year groups. I will be uploading further modules in a similar format in the coming weeks. If there are any issues please contact me and I can fix them for you, hopefully there are few if any.

NEW Unit 2 BTEC IT L3 - Database Mock Exam

Using the sample assessment material from Edexcel I have produced a mock exam of Part A, which includes an assessment, templates, mark scheme and space for marking. Alongside this I have produced a Database Solution and completed the activities to model the expectations of candidates in the exam. Unlike the sample assessment solution from Edexcel, I have included a written an evaluation which I will be using to model to students. The documents have been designed to allow me to use them on Google Classroom but can be used as standalone Word documents also. This is the first of a number of mocks I will be producing to get my students applying the required skills correctly and getting used to the requirements of the exam with regards to screen prints, naming conventions and exporting as PDF documents (where required). I am hoping you find some use of this, I know I have. If you have any issues, concerns or would like further support please do not hesitate to get in touch.

J836 - R060 Spreadsheets Knowledge Organiser

This 4 slide knowledge organiser covers the 2.1 specification points for the R060 Mainpulating Data using Spreadsheets unit of the new J836 Cambridge National in Information Technology. You are purchasing the PowerPoint file and not a PDF and are free to edit, add to and adapt as you wish. It is less of a “how to” and more of an explanation of the different tools and what they do. However, there are some examples and demonstrations presented. Please get in touch regarding any errors or mistakes and I will fix immediately.

Python Programming Techniques (GCSE Level)

This was originally produced to support students in the OCR Computing GCSE in topics 2.2 and 2.3 of the J276 specification. However, it has been very useful to me in other courses, particularly when students need to develop the range of concepts required for programming. There are 7 individual work booklets which act as tutorials and then tasks. They include lessons on variables, constants, assignments, string manipulation, selection, looping, arrays, file management and the use of validation to build robust programs. These were used as classroom activities alongside a home learning task which is at the end of each document. There is also space for students reflect and consider any questions that they have. At the moment I am using these with my Level 3 Students who have not come from a Computing GCSE and they are proving to be very useful. I hope you find a use for them too. Please note that example solutions are not included, I try not to push my own programming methods onto students and like them to go their own way. I can develop and provide solutions if you require them for your own practice.

OCR J276 Computing - Unit 2 Quick Reference Revision Guide (Entire Unit)

In preparation for the Unit 2 OCR Computing J276 examination I have created a quick reference revision guide which is an abstraction of the entire unit providing key facts and definitions, taking into consideration the common keywords and phrases required in the mark schemes for this unit. The booklet also includes a selection of example pseudocode algorithms that are likely to be required within the exam including selection, looping, accessing 1D & 2D arrays and the use of functions. The document is 20 pages in length and has been an essential revision pack for my students.
