For Edexcel English Language 2.0 Text on Paper 1 Section A 19th Century Non-Fiction Focuses on: Identifying key points from a text Examining key quotes from a text and annotation Commenting on and reviewing how successful something has been achieved Lesson time is approx 1.5 hours. This goes alongside an additional powerpoint for a second lesson covering skills on comparisons.

The lesson focuses on recognition of features of a speech, leading on to higher ability students adding to a scripted speech and less able students going on to feature spotting. This was written for the new Edexcel 2.0 spec, but can be used for all transactional / non-ficton writing classes.
