Detailed Y6 poetry planning plus copies of poems used for modeling purposes. This scheme was based around a History war topic, hence the poems selected as models. Planning can be edited/amended to reflect other foundation topics.

STARTER ACTIVITY: To encourage vocabulary skills. Words can be amended to suit topic-specific vocabulary. A great morning starter for children to complete independently during registration time, or a lesson starter for KS3 lessons. Equipment needed: Whiteboard / paper / exercise book, dictionary, thesaurus, iPads. Tip: Step 10 can be completed as a ‘last pupil standing’ activity.
