Pokemon Inference and Comprehension

(0)
Teach inference and PEE Paragraphs to students using Pokemon! You don't even need to know anything about Pokemon to use it effectively! These lessons work well as one big rolling lesson so you can move at whatever pace works best. It works well for any age range and any ability. There's a range of activities available from watching an episode and analysing the relationships to creating Pokedex entries about Pokemon. I do not own any rights to Pokemon. All clips have been taken from Youtube and all images from Google.

The Revision Game Show: Poetic Devices

Revise and test the students’ knowledge of Poetic Devices with a fabulous game show! The game is broken up into two sections: The Generation Game style conveyor belt where students must try to remember the definitions as they go across. Blockbusters where students must name the Poetic Device based off the definitions you give them. (Look up the rules of Blockbusters if you’re unsure. There should be music included but if not, here are the links: Slide 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5S623yzR6SY&t=15s Slide 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sZZh9d7d68&t=20s Conveyor Belt slides: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9v9-Nw4nAZg&t=30s This is a lot of fun and my Year 11 class really enjoyed it.
