I made a SATs arithmetic paper on Excel to help my students.
As I’m a bit sad and like Excel (I don’t get out much) I made some numbers random. So, every time you refresh you get a brand new paper although the objectives remain the same.
A bit like the SATS!
A weekly maths practice suitable for Y1 to Y6.
It starts with repeat addition and then goes on to tables. Students do the card each week and when they complete one level they go to the next.
We put celebrated children getting “promoted” in assembly and newsletter.
The children loved it and became competitive to get to the next level.
The parents loved it as they could see progress
Teachers loved it as it took no preparation
SLT loved it as it was a way of assessing class performance
TAs loved it as it was really good to do in PPA.
Unlike other sheets like this, as it is on Excel the numbers change every week although the objective/level of difficulty remains the same.
Come on, it will cost more to photocopy a class set of sheets than download it! Personalise it by putting your school name and logo on it and everyone will love you!
Students struggling with fluency? Then look no further! 19 sheets to help maths fluency.
These Excel sheets are
fully adjustable
cover + - x ÷
will give new questions EVERY time
Suitable for Y1-Y6
I used them at the very beginning of the day with my class. The children had 3 minutes to do as much as they could whilst I did the register.
As they are on Excel sheets, when you refresh, the questions change although the objective remains the same so every week they are different. You control what is covered - which table, how many tables, multiplication or division facts plus addition and subtraction!
Later added work on percentages, BIDMAS and rounding for Y6.
Features of the resource:
turns numbers to numerals, numerals to numbers
teaching tools for the whiteboard
limitless supporting worksheets
adjustable to match students ability
