I have created a morning task PowerPoint for my Year 4 class for September. On each day the children will be doing something different: Monday - Handwriting (linking to the year 3/4 words), they will have to underline the year 3/4 word in the sentence. Tuesday - SPAG - to help identify punctuation/grammar in one sentence and editing the sentence. Wednesday - Writing task - The children will have a picture on the IWB and they will have to use certain year 4 writing standards in their piece of writing. For the greater depth, they can also try and add in the challenge. My class loved it last year! Thursday - mental maths - I have linked these questions to the white rose arithmetic test in Autumn term Year 4. This is great to help build confidence when doing the end of term exam. Friday - timetables - Each week will involve a different timetable focus 2-12. The greater depth children can challenge themselves with the emoji task. This covers 12 weeks of morning challenges and can be adapted for Year 3’s.
