Face - Benjamin Zephaniah Drama Key Stage Three Scheme of Learning
Explores prejudice-This Scheme is aimed at year 9 students but could be suitable for year 8. It is based around the play Face by Benjamin Zephaniah and Richard Conlon. It explores the play ‘Face’ through a variety of practical exercises and tasks. It could be suitable for socially distant drama lessons with some adjustment. The Scheme uses sections of the script rather than the students reading the whole play. It is essentially making the students consider how we treat people with differences- Facial Discrimination and prejudice is its main theme. It makes them consider the importance we place on looks and how we are quick to judge others. The scheme touches on a variety of dramatic techniques and will help create a solid foundation for students possibly taking GCSE Drama.
