This resource is relevant to: Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Information Technology Unit 2: Creating Systems to Manage Information This is a collection of ERD questions and data for seven past controlled assessment papers. Students are asked to attempt an initial answers based on 1NF, 2NF and 3NF. They then improve after discussion, and finally take down the correct answer. By doing this repeatedly (seven times on these sheets, and then doing at least some again), the practice will help most students become very capable at this activity. Later marks are dependent on Activity 1 being correct, so this level of practice is arguably a good idea. I then provide detailed answers, in the separate answer booklet, which explain why the answer is what it is. I hope you, and your students, find those details useful.

This resource is relevant to: Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Information Technology, Unit 2: Creating Systems to Manage Information This booklet is part of a series. However, it doesn’t refer to previous booklets, so it can be used standalone to cover Part B. You will need access to the Pearson Unit 2 past papers for the Part B databases that they provide. The resource is a 32 page booklet which takes students through all Part B activities (6, 7 and 8). It guides students through answering multiple past paper questions for each of these activities, with step-by-step guidance for how to do so. There is also revision guidance, so students can revise producing input forms. The booklet also contains links to YouTube video guides. Students will need need Microsoft Access to open the controlled assessment Part B databases (not provided, find the Pearson exam materials), and will need to use Microsoft Access to meet the demands of the assessment questions (forms, testing and evaluation).
