Three pages of random sentence starters, objects, dialogue and actions to support children in creating their own funny stories. This resource can be used in lots of different ways; paired or group story making, whole class drama warm ups, and as ideas in building stories verbally. The words can be cut up, laminated and kept in a story bag for children to pull out a word to add the next section of the story. Or they can be cut up and used face down on a desk for pairs or groups to pick up and create their own stories. Or, simply on sheets for children to use as ideas in their own stories.

This resource is to support lesson on playscripts or character dialogue. It can be used with two characters from a known text, or two characters the children have designed themselves. The second sheet has space for attempting speech marks, using the speech bubbles to support this.

These 100 common words can support children as a precision teaching tool. I have organised the words into alphabetical groups. They can be cut up and laminated to create word cards, or simply used on the sheets. They can be used to support intervention groups or as a 1:1 precision teaching resource. This resource can also be shared with parents or guardians, so the words a child is learning in class can also be read at home.

This resource can be used by individual children to encourage self-checking, peer assessment or for use with class text modelling. It can also have additional items added to it for class or individual targets.

I wrote this poem to support the creative and imaginary poetry for a Year 4 class. This could be used as a class text, as an activity for children to annotate or to simply be shared with children.

They can be used as lesson starters, especially when children will be acting out their own scenes, or as whole lessons with a focus on the acting and language. They can also be used to develop questioning skills, if the children in the class ask questions about which animal is being held and what the animal is doing.
