This became a real favourite with my classes over the years. It is a project that ends with a presentation. The work begins with a reading designed to make students think about the value of a cinema. It also includes a survey of local inhabitants asking what they would want from a cinema and ends with students designing and presenting their own cinemas. Note: I always felt class presentations worked better when it was only to the teacher or ‘a board’ rather than to the whole class.
