The Summer Reading Challenge is an annual reading engagement programme delivered by The Reading Agency. It aims to tackle the summer reading ‘dip’ by encouraging children aged 4 - 11 to read for pleasure over the summer holidays by setting a reading target, reading their books and receiving rewards and incentives along the way. The theme for this Challenge is ‘Gadgeteers’. Developed in collaboration with the Science Museum Group, the Challenge will show children that science is all around us every day and inspire them to unleash their curiosity and creativity! This resource was created as part of UNBOXED: Creativity in the UK, a celebration of creativity that took place in 2022 across the four nations of the UK. Ten projects brought together science, technology, engineering, the arts and maths, to create unforgettable experiences in person and online for an audience of 18 million.
