Exploring Charles Darwin’s theory of Evolution and David Attenborough’s First Life documentary; this art unit will explore print making using polystyrene tiles. The unit begins by researching the artist, Iori Tomita and his interesting method in preparing his specimens. The children will recreate an animal x-ray using toothpicks and string. Finally, the children will work on developing a final idea and recreating a final piece using both printing ink and poster paint (neon colours) on both black and white paper. A planning unit.
